WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Wear whatever makes you feel most like you.
I usually recommend that moms choose their outfit first—something they feel confident and comfortable in—and build the rest of the family’s looks around that. Classic textures like knits, lace, denim, or pieces with little details (buttons, bows, eyelets) always photograph beautifully. Don’t be afraid of color! While neutrals are timeless and soft on camera, the studio space can absolutely support bold tones or statement pieces too. Whether you’re into jeans and a tee or you want to show up in the dress—you’ll look amazing. Just be yourself.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
For newborn photos, any time in your second trimester is amazing. I am sometimes able to accommodate last minute newborn sessions, but for most flexible scheduling, booking in advance is ideal. For everything else, like milestones, family, seniors? About 3 months in advance is best. Sessions typically occur on weekdays with some limited weekend availability.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
If rain is expected for your scheduled session, we typically move your session to the next soonest weekend availability.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD DOESN'T COOPERATE?
It happens. Every session often has a few moments where kids are unsure or uncooperative. It'll be okay. I'm a total stranger to your child in a lot of cases, let me take the lead if we need to redirect. Kids are often able to rally, even if in a poor mood. That said, I never force things. If something isn't working, we move on, no pressure.
WHERE CAN WE GO FOR OUR LOCATION?
Just about anywhere you'd like. I'm also familiar with a lot of public parks in SE MN and can offer suggestions if you're not sure though! I also love to visit new places near and far. I am open to traveling as well. Reach out for a custom quote.
